The Jaguar was one of the most important animals in the pre-Hispanic. The jaguar symbolized the night, power & strength, life, fertility and was the nagual par excellence of the most important men (as the ruler or the priests), of men linked to the supernatural (as sorcerers), and of the gods themselves (as Tezcatlipoca). It was considered a guardian and link with the gods.
