Before the existence of sugar skulls, in pre-Columbian times, they were used in the Tzompantlis (altar of ancient cultures adorned with skulls of people sacrificed) to honor their gods. After the Spanish evangelization in Mexico, sugar skulls became the substitute for altar offerings, decorated with favorite dishes, flowers, and candles for those deceased loved ones, to serve as a guide in the next life.

This is a design inspired by sugar skulls. The fabric and application are soft to the touch.
